Installing Permanent steel Barrier Over the Susquehanna River
Project Type: Permanent steel barrier
Contractor: J.D. Eckman, Inc.
Location: Pennsylvania
A first for B&K Enterprises, our crews recently installed BarrierGuard 800 permanent steel barrier on the Wrights Ferry Bridge along Route 30 near Columbia, Pennsylvania. This novel installation was done for J.D. Eckman, who we supported on their project of improving the bridge – set to be completed at the end of 2024. As experts in road safety infrastructure, including temporary and permanent concrete barrier, we were very excited to install our first permanent steel barrier, optimal for improving road safety along this key artery that sees an average of 46,000 vehicles per day. Our crews worked diligently to get the work done efficiently for J.D. Eckman, demonstrating not only our expertise, but also our adaptability – installing both permanent steel and concrete barrier.
While these kinds of projects always come with complexity, our teams were able to execute with precision, ensuring the safety of all on the job site and road users during the project, and improving the critical safety infrastructure along the Wrights Ferry Bridge for years to come.
Beyond the physical barriers erected, this project stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to enhancing road safety. Our team’s tireless efforts reflect our enduring commitment to delivering projects of the highest quality and safety standards.
