This week we are celebrating Women in Construction Week, a time dedicated to spotlighting the important role of women in the construction industry. This week, our shared values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, help shine a light on the necessity for more women in leadership and technical roles within the industry.
According to Heather Abbs, General Manager of B&K Enterprises, “Women in Construction Week is a step towards impactful dialogue and change.” Heather is a strong advocate for equal opportunities for women to lead, succeed, and innovate in the construction industry. She has played a significant role in establishing an inclusive and growing culture at B&K.
As we mark Women in Construction Week, it’s a moment for us to acknowledge the strides we’ve made toward equality and the path we’re paving for future generations. B&K Enterprises stands firm in its commitment to dismantling obstacles and nurturing an environment where the talents and contributions of everyone, regardless of gender, are recognized and celebrated.
B&K Enterprises proudly celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day dedicated to honoring the achievements of women all across the world while advocating for greater equality. Marked annually on March 8th, IWD is a celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
The highlight of our IWD celebration was a team-building event that recently took place. Our team came together to express their creativity and solidarity through an art project that depicted women construction workers holding keys, symbolizing the unlocking of future success in the industry. This initiative, dubbed “Keys to the Future,” allowed team members to explore their artistic talents while reflecting on the significant role women play in driving innovation and excellence in construction. The day was filled with inspiration, creativity, and discussions on progress and equality, reinforcing B&K Enterprises’ commitment to building a supportive and empowering workplace culture.
